PokeMMO is one of the newer fan based Pokemon MMO's to enter the scene but it by far one of the most impressive. The developers created this MMO by making its game engine use a Pokemon Fire Red ROM that you must download yourself, so in essence its like playing your Gameboy Pokemon Fire-red but now you have a growing community of players on the map with you.

Like the other Pokemon MMO's, you can trade, battle and catch a variety of Pokemon, but what this game has over the others is that because its using the actual game code  its very stable and includes everything that game had, (eg. attack effects).

The game is still being developed and is incorporating more Pokemon Game ROM's into its engine that makes use of their map, Pokemon data, effects and story-line.
